A Goodbye from Alix
Hello EFL members, associate, and the wider EFL network!
In the past year and a half I have worked with EFL, I’ve learned of the value and advantage this network brings to the wider, European affordable housing sector. Since my arrival in 2017, EFL’s growth has almost doubled. That is a testament to the importance of open discussion and knowledge exchange between housing associations, universities, and private companies in the sector (and not necessarily my presence as general consultant ?) In all seriousness though, the significance of EFL cannot be understated, and I feel very lucky to have been a part of such an important network, trying to improve affordable housing across Europe in all aspects.
So, it is then with a heavy heart that I announce my resignation from EFL. I have decided to pursue a career in law, and I will have to make changes now that will help set me up on this path. The first step is studying for the entrance exam, which I have decided to diligently commit fully to. I would love to keep in touch, so feel free to find me on LinkedIn or shoot me an email.
As one of my last efforts as general consultant, I want to point your attention to the EFL Digital Library. As a member of EFL, you have access to the contact information of all members in the EFL network. We want to make communication and interaction amongst members as transparent and smooth as possible. This is one of the benefits of the network! There is a link to the Digital Library in the member area of the EFL website. Take advantage of all the benefits that EFL membership has to offer.
I want to take the time to thank Joost Nieuwenhuijzen for his leadership and passion. He is a well of information about affordable housing all across Europe, and has taught me important skills about project management, event organization, and the general runnings of a nonprofit. I would also like to thank Anita Blessing for her guidance and mentorship. She believed in my intelligence and work ethic and always pushed me to grow in my professional career. Finally, I would like to thank all the members of EFL. You have taught me many things about the affordable housing sector in Europe, and I’m thankful for the professional connections I have made. Hopefully one day we may meet again.
All the best!
