How can we design neighbourhoods that people welcome—instead of resist?

In this practical and inspiring webinar, Create Streets will share how housing providers can better involve residents in shaping their neighbourhoods.

Based on real projects across England and beyond, the session will show how to:

• reach large groups of residents online,
• combine this with face-to-face conversations and workshops,
• and turn feedback into design choices people genuinely support.

Create Streets will also introduce their digital platform Create Communities, which allows residents to easily share ideas and feedback on specific locations. You will see how simple visual tools—such as choosing preferred images of streets, homes and public spaces—can provide clear insights into what people value.

Through concrete examples from projects in Surrey, Cheshire and other regions, the session will demonstrate how combining digital tools with local dialogue can lead to:

• stronger resident support,
• better design decisions,
• and more successful regeneration projects.

Artificial Intelligence is increasingly permeating also the work and skill sets within the housing sector. Many people are wary of this development, and there are good reasons for this—reasons that are also widely discussed in other fields and require clarification for the future. We’d therefore like to dedicate our Nice meeting to looking at the opportunities associated with AI for companies in the housing sector, specifically in the context of internal and external customer communication.

Together with experts and practitioners in this field, we will explore how internal and external target groups can be empowered to unlock and leverage the potential of AI tools—white coding, low coding, no coding, and other approaches to achieve this goal will be discussed in interactive sessions.

Europe’s housing providers are under growing pressure to deliver more affordable homes — faster, at lower cost, and under increasingly stringent sustainability requirements. But in practice, affordability, quality, and performance are often treated as competing priorities.

The European Affordable Housing Plan (EAHP) sets a strong policy direction, yet a key challenge remains: how can housing providers translate these ambitions into projects that are not only affordable to build, but also affordable to operate, healthy to live in, and resilient over time?

This webinar introduces the Living Future Affordable Housing Framework (AHF) as a practical, performance-based approach that supports housing providers in delivering high-quality, future-proof affordable housing — integrating energy, materials, health, and equity.

Drawing on the work of the Living Future Europe Technical Advisory Group, the session will explore how to move from compliance to performance, and from short-term affordability to long-term value creation.

Because affordable housing should not mean low-performance housing.
