We have two interesting reads related to EFL’s practices. The first is a dissertation and focuses on role of occupant behavior in reducing energy consumption. The second is a masterthesis and analyses the governing potential of transnational municipal networks. 

“Predicting energy consumption and savings in the housing stock: A performance gap analysis in the Netherlands” – Dasa Majcen (TU Delft)
Dasa Majcen holds a PhD in actual energy consumption of dwellings. Her work focuses on how the energy consumption in the residential sector has not yet experienced a dramatic reduction, despite technical improvements of the dwelling stock. According to Majcen, occupant behaviour is a crucial factor in actual energy consumption. Her dissertation, attempts to shine light onto how well the theoretical consumption predicts the actual energy use and what the causes of discrepancies are, especially with regard to occupant behaviour.

“Transnational Municipal Networking: Analyzing intermunicipal cooperation” – Rosa de Hoog (University of Amsterdam)
This thesis focuses on the growing practical interest in alternative forms of international policy coordination that go beyond multilateral cooperation. After an examination of the functions and limitations of transnational municipal networks, mechanisms of global governance and mechanisms of policy diffusion, it analyses how the internal governance capacity of TMNs promote intermunicipal cooperation.
