4 EFL members signed LOI for Zero Carbon House
On June 10 2015, EFL members Eigen Haard (Amsterdam) , Circle Housing (London), MOAT (Kent) and GEWOBAG (Berlin) signed in Berlin the Letter of Intent for the development of the so called EFL Zero Carbon House. This concept development is the first design in which the total CO2 balance during the whole lifecycle of the building is CO2 neutral. Also the embedded energy of the construction is included in the calculations. Responsible for the concept is the Swiss architect/ engineering office KEOTO from Zürich.
After finalising of the design (october 2015), it is meant to actually realise the building in three European countries. The concept will provide solutions for ‘green field developments’, single family homes and inner city apartments.
The LOI’s have been signed by Hugh Fenn (MOAT), Lara Hayim (Circle), Snezana Michaelis (GEWOBAG) and Jan Jeths van den Berg (Eigen Haard).
The Delft University of Technology supported the development.
The contract between KEOTO and it’s principals has been signed of by Joost Nieuwenhuijzen, EFL managing Director and Frank Thesseling, Director of KEOTO.
