British Members of Parliament guest at EFL member “1892” housing association Berlin

by | Mar 23, 2015

In April 2013, an eight-member parliamentary group visited Berlin. Reason for the trip was the strongly changing housing market in the UK and their interest in how it works in Germany.

In addition to discussions with the Berlin Senator for Housing,  the delegation had a two hour visit to the Berlin housing association “1892” on the program. Here, visitors could not only visit a modernized old residential building, but CEO Dirk Lönnecker informed the guests about the principles of housing cooperatives and answered the questions raised during the discussion with the parliamentarians about the social housing rent index (“Mietspiegel”) up to the theme “Rights of Landlords”.
