EFL & Havensteder host 2 days study visit largest German housing companies

On May 6 and 7, EFL and housing association Havensteder (Rotterdam) host a two day study visit of the largest housing companies from Germany. About 80 directors and staff members will visit Amsterdam (May 6th) and Rotterdam (May 7th). In Amsterdam the group will be welcomed by the alderman of Housing, Mr. Freek Ossel. The German group will be introduced to the Dutch housing system and recent changes in housing policy by Prof. Dr. Vincent Gruis of the Delft University of Technology. During a seminar on monday May 6, directors and practioners of Dutch housing associations Eigen Haard, De Woonplaats, Ymere and De Alliantie will show the German participants how the housing associations improve the neigborhoods.

The second day of the visit is organized in Rotterdam. Housing association Havensteder (EFL member) takes the guests to urban restructuring areas in Rotterdam south (Garden City Vreewijk), Rotterdam north (Het oude Noorden) and the harbour district “Kop van Zuid”. In the morning a discussion with representatives of the City of Rotterdam takes place.
