EFL member Joseph Stiftung wins German Federal Construction Award with E% Building

EFL member Joseph Stiftung wins German Federal Developersprize 2016 for Ansbacher project  “E%” – building “

For the created rental property in timber at the Herbartstraße in Ansbach (Bavaria),The Jospeh Stiftung has been awarded in the Berlin Palais am Funkturm the Federal Bauherrenpreis 2016 in the category New Construction. A total of ten projects from Hamburg to Konstanz have been awarded with other prizes. This is the most coveted award of the German construction and property industry.

Gunther Adler, State Secretary, Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Building and Nuclear Safety, congratulated the winners: “High quality and simultaneously affordable housing construction in view of the current challenges of immigration up to energy efficiency,  turning more relevant than ever. Your projects show by way of example, as a value to the residential area and the internal development of the cities can be achieved with intelligent and innovative housing. “

For Joseph Foundation Board, Mr.  Reinhard Zingler accepted the award.

The Federation of German Housing and Real Estate Companies (GdW), the Confederation of German Architects and the German Association of Cities organizes this competition for exactly 30 years now. The motto was then and is now: “Develop High quality at an affordable cost”. The jury commented on the construction project as a model project within the program “% E – energy-efficient housing construction” of the Supreme Building Authority in the Bavarian Ministry of the Interior. It  was realized for construction and transport, as follows:

“The church owned housing company Joseph Foundation Bamberg has replaced together with Deppisch architects in Herbartstraße in Ansbach three not be restructured building wings from the 1950s. Two buildings in timber construction with highly insulated building envelope forms together with two outbuildings in simple clear language of architecture a distinctive, extremely energy-efficient block to a vibrant yard, all apartments and adjoining rooms are barrier-free and have acces to the yard. “
