EFL Members Approve Year Plan 2026

On 18 November 2025, the members of the European Federation for Living (EFL) formally approved the Year Plan 2026 during the online General Assembly. The plan outlines EFL’s strategic focus for the coming year and reinforces the network’s commitment to advancing social and affordable housing across Europe with its members.

Key Priorities for 2026

The Year Plan sets out five central objectives:

  • Strengthening Topic Groups with a sharper, outcome-driven programme and improved cross-country knowledge sharing.
  • Delivering high-quality events, including conferences, webinars and expert exchanges, with hybrid participation options where possible.
  • Expanding benchmarking and data-driven insights to support members in strategic decision-making.
  • Enhancing engagement with both housing providers and commercial associates, including outreach in Central and Eastern Europe.
  • Increasing EFL’s European visibility, including cooperation with partner networks and organisations.

EFL Contribution to the EU Affordable Housing Plan

In 2025, EFL and IWO jointly submitted the Position Paper “Affordable Housing Plan and Action” to the European Commission’s Taskforce on the European Affordable Housing Plan.
The paper reflects the expertise of our members from 16 countries and highlights:

  • The need for an integrated European financing architecture (grants, guarantees, loans)
  • Stronger cross-border cooperation and support for Central, Eastern and South-Eastern Europe housing systems
  • Priority for renovation, circular construction and socially inclusive neighbourhood development (ESG Agenda)

The Year Plan 2026 ensures that EFL will continue to contribute to the EU process as the Affordable Housing Plan by sharing best practices from the network.
