Interview EFL MD Joost Nieuwenhuijzen in German Magazine DW
The German magazine DW Die Wohnungswirtschaft (July 2019 edition) published an interview of Joost Nieuwenhuijzen. In the article he describes major challenges of the EFL members and their common ambitions. The pressure on the national housing markets is a common feature, like other challenges as ageing and the need for energy efficient homes. In the interview the comparison is made between the social housing sector in Switzerland and Germany. One key characteristic of Germany is the presence of large international investors in the affordable housing industry (former acquistions of public housing companies), which brought new players on the market after 1990.
