At the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences (AUAS), students and lecturers work closely with countless industries, companies and organisations to come up with smart solutions to the challenges facing the city.

Research at the HvA always addresses a real-life world problem from the professional field, conducted in close collaboration with both professors and professionals. Applied research is a crucial component of the many educational programmes they offer. Students work alongside professors in living labs throughout the city. AUAS focuses on six priority areas for research: Amsterdam creative industries, entrepreneurship, urban education, urban management, urban technology and urban vitality.

The university consists of seven faculties, with a total of 45,797 students and 96 Bachelor’s, Master’s and Associate degree programmes. They are one of the biggest employers in the field of higher education, and in Amsterdam, with some 4,077 staff members.

Launched in January 2021, the EFL Academy is EFL’s online learning environment, offering exclusive courses on housing-related topics for our members and associates.
