Join us on Thursday 4th of November between 4:30 and 6:30pm CET for the virtual Awards Ceremony for the EFL Design Competition in Kalasatama Smart City, Helsinki.

Students were asked to design a concept for a real-life building on a plot of land in Kalasatama, a sea-side neighborhood with a long history as an industrial port, which is now undergoing an important process of urban renewal and transformation. The winning entries stepped up to the challenge of combining housing affordability, community living, and adaptation to climate change in unique and innovative ways. Attend the ceremony to watch students receive their awards and present their designs!

Also on the agenda, presentations by top housing design and sustainability experts, and a panel discussion on the assessment of sustainability standards in different European cities, with participation from representatives from the Finnish Ministry of Environment, the City of Helsinki, the New European Bauhaus team, and the Institute for Real Estate, Construction and Housing of Vienna.
