Is there a case for international collaboration?

Motivated to improve the quality of their projects in housing and neighbourhood development, and to secure social impact investments, social housing providers around Europe are searching for effective ways to measure and rate the outputs and impacts of these projects. Interest in international knowledge exchange is high, and the potential for pan-European system of project and impact evaluation has been discussed. Yet building an internationally transferrable system requires an understanding of the capabilities of existing rating and evaluation systems, and of the needs and motivations of stakeholders in different member states. What are they being asked to measure? And for whom? In this webinar Fondazione Housing Sociale and Avanzi present their multidimensional system for evaluating social housing projects in Italy. Clarion Housing Group, UK share their Social Index, which helps to demonstrate impact by tracking individual resident well-being, and they also discuss their developing systems for rating projects. We’ll then consider the international transferability of these different approaches and propose the next steps for collaboration on project and impact evaluation within the EFL community.
